Model Park Radio Club
Manor Park Radio Sailing Club (MPRSC) meet beside a beautiful lake to enjoy racing 1 metre yachts round buoys to the same rules as the full size dinghies. From our raised grassy control area we speedily tack and gybe around the course, in close competition, with 12 races every meeting. We meet at 11.30 for 12.00 every Wednesday, at weekends alternating between Saturdays in the Winter hours and Sundays in the Summer. Allowing for coffee breaks, yacht adjustments and helpful chat we normally finish around 15.00.
Rugeley Model Boat Club
Rugeley Model Boat Club (RMBC) moved to Manor Park in March 2017 following the demise of Rugeley Power Station. They are a small friendly club that also sail on this beautiful lake but with the smaller kit-built yacht class known asVictoria’s and have regular informal races in the summer. In calm weather the RMBC also sail scale models, often built from scratch with fine details, often including “lights & smoke”. A few medium-fast electric model boats are also sailed. We sail nearly every Monday from 14.00 to about 16.00 but will often stay later in the summer. A complete annual program is given on our website.
