Sponsors and Benefactors
Manor Park Sailing Club (MPSC), Manor Park Radio Sailing Club (MPRSC), Rugeley Model Boat Club (RMBC) and our affiliated groups gratefully acknowledge the sponsorship by the following organisations and the individual benefactors in supporting our Sailing Club over the recent years:-
-
Sport England
Sport England is the organisation established to distribute the funds from the National Lottery. They have been incredibly supportive of MPSC over the years, with grants towards our low profile floating jetty, towards lost income during the Covid pandemic, and in December 2020 helped us to install new fire doors to re-open our clubhouse after Covid lockdowns.
-
John Merricks Sailing Trust
John Merricks Sailing Trust is a trust set up in memory of a talented young sailor. The trust (JMST) were impressed by our application and awarded us a substantial grant towards a new RS Quest three person dinghy, subsequently named "Peter Pallett"
-
HS2 Community Fund
HS2 Community and Environment Fund When the club discovered that our Clubhouse roof had failed, we applied to HS2 for funding. We could prove that 36% of members were affected by Phase 1 and 23% by Phase 2a, so were thrilled to receive 59% of the cost of new roof.
-
PostCode Lottery Local Trust
PostCode Lottery Local Trust funded the new Red Whally rescue boat used mostly by Radio Sailors. The award funding arrived in time to order and collect the new rescue boat just days before the Radio Sailor's MYA National Event held at Manor Park in August 2021.
We were thrilled to also be successful in July 2022 when they also funded our Platinum Dinghy Appeal towards the purchase of our four new Hartley dinghies.
-
Transforming the Trent Valley
Transforming the Trent Valley was set up by 16 partners to allocate National Lottery funds to the Trent Valley; Hansons (our current landowners) are one of the partners. As our sailing club lakes are fed by the River Trent, they are strong supporters of MPSC. TTTV funded our new buoyancy aids, and in June 2022 gave us a maximum award towards buying our new Hartley H12 training dinghies.
-
The RYA Foundation
The RYA Foundation promotes participation in boating by those who are disadvantaged by reason of youth, age, infirmity or disability. Our Training Department observed that we had a gap in the size of training dinghies available, and the RYA trustees generously approved an award towards buying larger Hartley H12 dinghies so that larger children were not disadvantaged and could sail solo for first time.
-
WeLoveLichfield
WeLoveLichfield is a local charity funded partly by the local Lichfield Lottery, to support organisations in the Lichfield area. It is administered by The Community Foundation for Staffordshire. In June 2022, at a presentation at George Hotel, Lichfield we were thrilled to be awarded a grant towards purchase of one of our new training dinghies.
-
Staffordshire County Council
Staffordshire County Council Parish Councillor (then Cllr Martyn Tittley for Kings Bromley) allocated us a grant through the Covid Support Fund towards our purchase of the RS Quest three person dinghy.
-
Lichfield District Council
Lichfield District Council operated the various Government Covid support funds for local businesss. LDC have very efficiently handled our applications. The club are extremely grateful for the various Covid Support and Restart Grants received during the pandemic.
-
Platinum Jubilee Appeal Benefactors
Platinum Jubilee Appeal launched in February 2022, to purchase four Hartley H12 single hander dinghies was sponsored by several large funding organisations, but the MPSC are particularly grateful to those individual benefactors who have given us donations to the appeal.:-
