Powerboat Instructors
Our powerboat instructors are a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time, knowledge and experience to help members develop their powerboating and safety boat skills.
From those taking their first steps in powerboating to experienced sailors looking to improve their boat handling and safety boat skills, our instructors provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment for everyone to learn and build confidence on the water.
Many of our powerboat instructors are also sailing instructors, giving them a great understanding of both sailing and powerboating. This allows us to provide well-rounded training and support across all areas of the club.
Our instructor team works together to deliver powerboat and safety boat training throughout the season, following the RYA training pathway and helping members progress their skills at their own pace.
Chief Powerboat Instructor
The Chief Powerboat Instructor oversees the club's powerboat training and instructor team. They help organise and plan RYA powerboat and safety boat coursesand ensure training is delivered safely and to the required RYA standards.
They also help identify training needs within the club, support instructor development and ensure we have suitably qualified instructors to support sailing sessions, training and club activities.

Powerboat Instructors
Our Powerboat Instructors deliver RYA powerboat training and help members develop their confidence and competence in operating powerboats.
Training can include practical boat handling, launching and recovery, manoeuvring, coming alongside, mooring, anchoring and safety procedures, as well as the skills required to progress through the RYA Powerboat pathway.
Many of our Powerboat Instructors are also sailing instructors, allowing them to support both the sailing and powerboating sides of the club and understand how powerboats are used to support sailors on the water.
